An update on my research. I can find no other listing of a Colonel Eby with Hessian soldiers. However, I did find a Colonel von Eyb who was listed as the main officer in charge of teh Ansbach Regiment. I am guessing the listing of a Colonel Eby might have been a typographical error and should probably be von Eyb instead. Another source spelled it as Eyl but seemed to be referring probably to von Eyb.
