“A Biographical History of Lancaster Co. Being a History of
Early Settlers and Eminent Men of the County” by Alex. Harris, 1827
Lancaster, Pa.: Elias Barr & Co., 1872
Pg. 184, REV. BENJAMIN EBY, who succeeded his brother PETER as presiding Bishop of the Mennonites in Canada, was married to an ERB, and left a family of 11 children, one of whom also became a minister of the Gospel.
He moved to Canada in and settled where Berlin, the county town of Waterloo Co. now stands. He died in a few years ago. His farm, like many others in that county, afterwards settled upon by Lancaster Co. people, was a part of the large tract purchased by the Mennonites, as mentioned in the notice of his elder brother JOHN.
Two of his sons became printers, and for many years published a newspaper, as also hymn books and other religious works.
