David Davies Eby DNA match

David Davies Ebi/Eby was my 3rd-gr-grandfather. Although there has long been speculation that he was the son of David Ebi/Eby (son of Theodorus) and Maggie Davis, The Eby Report by Groff states that there was no evidence that such was the case. David Ebi/Eby was born 1701, the son of Theodorus Ebi.

I have recently received the results from my Family Finder DNA test. Family Finder tests the DNA that is not included in the yDNA or mtDNA tests, and can be taken by both males and females. The results predict cousin relationships at different levels (e.g., 2nd cousins, 3rd-5th cousins, 5th-distant cousins, etc.). The predictions include both maternal and paternal ancestors.

One of my matches is a proved descendant of Theodorus Ebi, Charles McKenny. While the Family Finder DNA test cannot tell us who our common ancestor was, it does show that Charles McKenny and I share a common ancestor. We have exchanged names of known ancestors, and Ebi is the only surname that we have in common.
