Hi Alice,

The fact that Charles McKenny and I match on the Family Finder DNA test, plus the fact that your father had such a good yDNA match with the Canadian Ebys, appears to be very good circumstantial evidence that David Davies Eby is from this line.

It would be wonderful if more Eby descendants would take a DNA test. The Family Finder test (from FamilyTreeDNA), as well as a test called 23andMe, can be taken by both females and males, and they match cousins up the maternal and paternal lines. The yDNA test can be taken only by direct-line male descendants and predicts only up the direct-male line, but the Family Finder test and the 23andMe test (and there may be others) do not have those limitations.
