I wished I had known your Dad was going. My grandmother was Anna Krauss b:1883 and it would be interesting to find out if their was a connection to your Augustine.. Her father was named Jakob and his father was Johan George.
Dad's oldest sister Mary inherited the family home in Dettingen in the 1940's and married a Mack. Both are deceased now and I hear the old home has been turned over to the town.
It's interesting that yor Dad a third generation still goes back.
Is he aware of my line.?and connection to yours?
My Dad's other sister Anna married a Wild and not doing well last I heard. She has a son George where I have received my start on the family history. It's interesting that you state that your DAd's side had a home in Dettingen back to the 1640's. My understanding was that Jacobs father Johannes didn't move to Dettingen from Setzingen untill about 1822. I remember our previous info exchange and you mentioned you father being on holiday at the time it would be nice to get more recent info onthe Eckhardt line over there as privacy laws of the early family makes it difficult.
