It's a long shot, but I'm looking for an Eckhard(t?) relative in the same area.

According to a family bible, I have a Mary Eckhard marrying a Daniel Lews Harten and producing a child by 1892. The Eckhards are a dead end for me.

however, when looking at 1880 census information, I noticed that there are a number fo EckhardT families, but no Eckhards. I began to wonder if maybe the name was either misspelled by whomever wrote it in the bible, or if the family could have been in the process of dropping the T (I've got other lines where a single generation in transition has three different spellings of the surname).

When I saw your post that was from the same area, same general time period, and mentioned the dropped T, I thought it was worth at least asking if you know more about that line, and if there's a Mary m. Daniel Lewis Harten anywhere in it.

Chris
