Catherine:

Descendants of Jacob LOAR/LOHR and Sarah ECKHART have a special problem in that an early genealogy on the LOARS indicates that George Adam ECKHART arrived in Philadelphia in the 1770's with Jacob LOAR. While there was a George ECKHART on the same ship with Jacob, he was George ECKHART SR or JR returning from a visit to Germany or another George ECKHART.

Sarah ECKHART'S father, George Adam ECKHART, can be found first arriving in Philadelphia 11AUG1750 aboard the 'Patience'. He married 15DEC1755 at Indanfield Lutheran, Frnconia Twp., Philadelphia Co.(Now Montgomery), PA Maria WITTMEYER. There first two children(George 1756-, and Elizabeth 1761-) appear in the church records. By 1762, he was purchasing land in Frederick Co. MD(That part in present day Carroll Co. MD) and by 1789 was living in the area of Eckhart Mines, Allegany Co. MD where he died around 1806.

I have more than enough info on the LOAR/LOHR descendants, but a complete copy of my ECKHART FIle is available($25) if you desire more complete information on George Adam ECKHART and his descendants.
