Looking for information on John Eckman, a Swiss Mennonite who was one of 36 persons who were granted patent deeds for 14,000 acres in the country surrounding Strasburg, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania June 30, 1711 (according to Gary T. Hawbaker's "A History of Strasburg, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, until the sesqui-centennial year by the graduating class of 1926 of Strasburg High School") This John Eckman precedes the Johannes Eckman came aboard the ship the William and Sarah in 1727 and the one who came on the ship the Leslie in 1749. Has anyone untangled these early Eckman families?
