Looking for links for Jacob ECKMAN, b. Sep 30, 1791, probably VA, d. Sep 10, 1877, Hamilton Co., OH. He served in the 3rd Rgt ("Stembelís") of the Militia of Frederick Co., MD, during the War of 1812.

Jacob was married to Margaret LIND, b. ca. 1800 in OH, d. Jan 13, 1834 in North Bend, Hamilton Co., OH. They were married before 1820, since their first child was born about then. Children are:
Addison Shannon Eckman, b. ca. 1820
George Washington Eckman, b. ca. 1822
Peter Eckman, b. 1826
William Henry Eckman, b. Mar 11, 1828

After Margaret died in 1834, Jacob remarried, to Mary Ann RANCY, b. 1792 in NC, d. July 30, 1875 in Clives or Cleves, Hamilton Co., OH. She is buried at Congress Green Cemetery, North Bend, Hamilton Co., OH. Jacob and Mary Ann had two children:
Mary Eckman, b. 1838
Eliza Eckman, b. Feb 9, 1840

Jacob ECKMAN died Sept 10, 1877, in Hamilton Co., OH, and is buried at Maple Grove Cemetery, Hamilton Co., OH.

A cousin has researched the ECKMAN family thoroughly, assembling census, land records, cemetery records and military pensions to back up most of the above. The family with Mary Ann is a bit of conjecture, however, and is not supported by sources.

I have researched the LIND family. Margaret (Lind) Eckman is my 3rd gr-grandaunt. Margaretís mother was named Mary and was born 1759 in Shenandoah, VA, married George LIND ca. 1778, and had 10 children. George LIND was b. in Yorkshire, England, and came to the Colonies in 1766. I have background on the LIND side all the way to the present day. My cousin and I would like to find out who Jacob ECKMANís parents were. Would be happy to share what we have.
