I am looking for any information on my great-grandmother, Julia Eckmann (possibly the daughter of Grethe Eckmann). It is my understanding that my Julia Eckmann was born in Norway or perhaps even Germany sometime around 1854 and somehow arrived in Salt Lake City, Utah with the mormons sometime during the mid to late 1800's. Census records indicate that she lived with Carl Peter Carlson (my grandfather) in Salt Lake City, Utah, and that they had several children during the late 1800's. One of them, Gwendolyn Carlson, my grandmother. The remaining children were Oswald Carlson, Carl Edwin Carlson, Bernice C. Carlson, Oscar Carlson and William O. Carlson. My grandmother married Fred Treat Gleason, my Grandfather. My father was also named Fred Treat Gleason. Any information on any of the above-named Eckmanns or Carlsons would be greatly appreciated. My email is Esquire-Gleason@att.net.
