I saw that in the Confederate records there was a James E. Eades who was enlisted in Co. A. of the 14 VA. Cavalry. It says he was born 1833 lewisburg, (West) Virginia and he was a farmer. It says that he fought from 1862-1863. It says that he was sent north after that in 1865. I was wondering if maybe the Confederate records were off a little and he was actually born in Monroe County. When you listed the birth dates of his kids, it skips 1862,1863 and 1865 which could have been the time that he was gone fighting. It says that he was 5'11", fair complection, hazel eyes, and dark hair. So do you think that the records may have been off or this is maybe a cousin of the James Edgar Edds (who is my gg grandpa too). I know for a fact that there is something wrong with the confederate record...it says in 1862 when James E. Eades enlisted, he was age 29 and in 1865 he was age 34. This proves that the Confederate records were somewhat off...So who knows.
