We think his parents are John and Malinda Edy who are listed in the 1850 census of Marion County, AL. This county is in northern Alabama near Lawrence County. The family later appears in the 1860 census of Pulaski County, AR. The family name seems to be spelled Eady, Edy, or Eddy and I believe quite a few of them migrated from Alabama to Arkansas.
