It is with sadness, but many loving memories that we announce the peaceful passing of Dorothy Phyllis Eddy (nee Nicholson) on Tuesday, June 9, 2009. Dorothy was born in Nanaimo, BC on February 13, 1921 and grew up and attended high school in Nelson, BC. She then moved to Vancouver with her sister Pat to work at the Vancouver Sun. In 1947 Dorothy married John Eddy and moved to Thunder Bay, Ontairo where they lived and raised our family for 34 years. Dorothy and John moved to Victoria in 1980, settled in Gorden Head and had an active retirement with many happy visits. Dorothy will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 62 years, John, and their children, Mary (Victor), John (Olivia), Christine (David), Elizabeth (Bill), Robert (Sharon), Phyllis (Chris), Herman, Philip (Suzanne) and Kenneth. Dorothy will also be fondly remembered by her sixteen grandchildren Chris, Katharine, Aaron, Andrew, James, Brendan, Erin, Robin, Ryan, Gary, Philip, Ann, Lisa, Heather, Sarah and Meghan; by her five great grandchildren Jaxon, Cameron, Evan, Kaitlyn and Lucas; by her sister Pat Speakman, brother Bob (Gerry) Nicholson and many nieces and nephews. We remember her grace, her love of life and her boundless energy. Dot left every person she met feeling better and all of us will carry her love in our hearts. Our beloved Dot has gone to heaven to join her son Jimmy, daughter Margaret Rose, grandson Alan Curtis and sister Francis Nicholson. A family service to remember Dorothy and celebrate her life will be held at Our Lady of Fatima church on Monday, June 15, 2009.
