In Reply to: William J. Edens-Elizabeth-Pickens Dist SC-1860 by Susie Henderson of 720

I found Elizabeth and one son, William Cass in Baxter Co, Independence Twp in 1880. Elizabeth 42 Widowed TN NC NC and William 19 single SC SC TN. (Spelled Edins)

In the book "History of Marion County", it says Elizabeth married Samuel Jackson Megee(McGee) after his first wife, Sarah died. I found STEPHEN Jackson in the 1860, 1870, 1880 still married to Sarah. Elizabeth and Stephen do show up in the 1900 Baxter Co Census, with Melvin Anglin, nephew, living with them. Shows Elizabeth was born Oct, 1837. But lists GA SC AL. ??

I ran a search for Megee & various spellings and found Elizabeth COLLIS. Lists her as married to William J. Edens and S McGee, with Mary Melissa and Nathaniel R as McGee's, and William Cass as an Edens. All three children are Edens. I found William Cass Edens in the 1930 Baxter Co Census, Gassville Twp, 69 yrs old, m: 21 yrs. to Sarah (Anglin?), with Charles, son, 45 single, SC SC GA. There are several researchers who are working on the Collis, Buchanan lines, I have not verified as I am still working on these Edens.

In the 1850 Pickens Co, SC Census, William J Edens is not listed with William Elford and family. I am still searching for my William J.

Has anyone ran across Elizabeth Edens with her children: Mary Melissa, Nathaniel R and William Cass in the 1870 Census? anywhere????? I have found absolutely 0 for Nathaniel after 1860.

William J Edens is my ggg-grandfather, not gg.
