Mary Edens Strange Story

On Christmas Eve December 24, 1924 the Babb's Switch Oklahoma school house burned killing thirty-six people. During the panic to escape a three year old girl named Mary Elizebeth Edens was passed out a window. She was not seen again by her family for thirty-two years. She was kidnapped. In 1956 a young woman named Mary Grossnickle, living in Barstow, California traced her original family back to Hobert, Oklahoma. She reunited with her family in 1957. She later wrote a book Mary, A Child of Tragedy by Mary Edens Grossnickle. I thought this was an interesting story to post on the Edens Family Forum. Details of the Babbs School Fire and this story can by found through the search engine. Fascinating story!!
