"134 Members of Family of Bannister Edens Enjoy Annual Round-up at Gus Sproul Ranch Wednesday Afternoon [c. July 16, 1941]." This is the cutline of a newspaper clipping from the Kerrville [TX] Mountain Sun of July 21, 1941, recounting, primarily, the names (with some misspellings) and hometowns of the attendees.
The ranch was located, roughly, between Mountain Home and Divide.
Lots of folks named Anderson, Ashby, Morriss, Carpenter, Crow, Davenport, Edwards, Hyler [read "Hiler"], McRae, Spivey, Sproul, and several others.
I have a muddy but legible scan I'd be glad to furnish as an email attachment upon request.
The article asserts that "Technicolor movies were made of the group by Mrs. H.B. Anderson of San Antonio." Of that I know nothing--but would be very pleased to encounter someone who has a copy.
