Hi, cousin!
I have been in contact with your mom for years and I can honestly say I had NO information on Chad in my tree. I never knew you were married to him. I ONLY have Shawn's information listed as your partner at the time of Katelyn's birth. Thanks for clearing this up though, because I kept seeing the information in trees and thought I had it wrong so was about to contact your mom about it. This "mis-information" that people post can be confusing and (like your case and mine) EVEN DETRIMENTAL to people. I have two children who died during my 5th month of pregnancy. The oldest one, my only son Sean Mykel Green, and my oldest daughter, Jessica, share the same father but my next to youngest daughter, Cheyenne Summer Green, has a different father whom I CHOOSE NOT TO NAME DUE TO THE CIRCUMSTANCES OF HER CONCEPTION. On most trees I see myself and my children listed on, Cheyenne is listed as either the daughter of the EX-BOYFRIEND who is the father of my oldest two (Sean and Jessi) OR as the daughter of my ex-husband whom I did NOT meet until 3 YEARS after my daughter died. Either way it causes issues for all involved. If she is listed with the older two's father, it makes it seem like I had an affair with him AFTER HE MARRIED, which would never have happened. If Cheyenne is listed with my ex-husband, it looks as though HE AND I were together when he was dating another woman and having a child with her. (Cheye's death occurred 22 DAYS before the birth of my-husband's daughter. As you can see, NIETHER man can POSSIBLY be her father and her father is a man I would rather not have associated with my family.
Once again, thanks for the clarification.
Happy family tree climbing,
(Your cousin) Peggy
