From my Mother-in-laws notes: John Edgecomb, immigrant ancestor was son of Nicholas Edgecomb,of Plymouth, England, and is supposed to have first settled in Kittery, Maine as early as 1640. John Edgecomb did not remain permanently in Kittery, but removed to New London, Conn. where he settled about 1673. He received a grant of land through the Conn. Assembly in 1663. His estate consisted of a Homestead in the town plot and two considerable farms. He married(1st), Feb. 9,1673, Sarah daughter of Edward Stallion. He married(2nd) Elizabeth, widow of Joshua Hempstead. Then she lists children including the daughter you asked about but it really isn't clear to me when he married the 2nd time. My husband is decended from Thomas born in 1694. Please let me know if you know the date of the 2nd marriage. I can also give you info on John's father. Betsy
