Visited Edgecomb, Maine last summer and also the Fort. Returning home I found that I have Edgecomb ancestors. Wrote Wiscasset Library to find out for whom the Fort and the town of Edgecomb were named. They guessed that it might be in honor of an English benefactor, named Edgecomb. Uncertain. Does anyone know?
