Hi Val.
Thanks for thinking of little ol' me!
Yes I have oodles of Edgson's alive, most I have lost contact with (father's siblings families) my daughter is still an Edgson (has not married her partner yet or taken his name).
My mother is 80 but only Edgson by marriage (obviously).
Most of my 'E' ancestors are originally from Buck's (only as far back as late 1700s, so far).
Cannot find Ephraim Snr's birth place, he had a child in Frimley (Ephraim Jnr) then he and his wife returned to Buck's to have their other children.
She, Hester Paratine/Paradine (later as Esther on data) was born in Buck's.
So I am thinking along the lines that Ephraim comes from outside Buck's originally, meets his wife in Buck's (that is where they were married, have the parish print out).
Takes her to Surrey (Frimley) to start their married life then she gets 'homesick' or he cannot make a living there so both head back to Buck's!
Other reasons could have caused their move of course? The reason is irrelevant really.
(Sheila, on this forum, with her Edgson Uncle's line, has just 'kindly' added some info' on Ephraims Jnr, etc, which she stumbled across).
My rambling point is, I have a floating Gx3 grandfather who has not disclosed his birth place 'yet' (sorry to waffle so, data means nothing if not your own line)!
I am glad he is floating, that kind of scenario gives opportunity to link him or his ancestors to any of the other Edgson's here, which would be marvellous.
A common 'area/county' for all our known Edgson's (to have been born or lived) is what I am looking for.
I have not been into Anne's site yet, think it will make me depressed not having anything in common with all of your lines.
You mentioned photo's there (in another post) I must go see if any resemblance to my lot!!
You three have done so well (and Sheila with her line) I am trying to catch up but my line has not left many clues via wills, word of mouth by family, etc!
I have loads of birth/marriage and some death cert's so I know that the line I am following is true, such a problem when it comes to pre 1837's and then into Parish records!!
Thanks for the post Valerie, Glad it is working well for you, Janice and Anne with your combined lines.
Warm wishes, Linda.
