Hi again Joe,
Just to reply on the forum (In case anyone with same
line in the future is interested in our debate).
I do not have access to all the census' which you have Joe, using the IGI (LDS site and the Batch site) to fill in some gaps in Alf and Matt's tree, I am pretty certain those are correct if IGI is correct (probably the only true proof are cert's and parish records) educated guesses though!
I had some marriage and birth cert's for one son & grandson of James and Elizabeth Cunnington, Frederick/1848 and his first born Frederick James, also cert's for Charlotte Lott and her parents (as you know now re my email).
Charlotte & other younger son George are in the 1881 on their own, she is 'Head of household' No idea where the two Fredericks are (father and son) in 1881? Have them and Charlotte on the 1901.
From the LDS 1881 census, which you have no doubt seen:-
7 Platt Street.
James and Elizabeth Edgson (nee Cunnington, maiden name Alf has on the marriage cert) are with their youngest child William Thomas (1866) aged 14 and two grandchildren, Elizabeth & Frederick aged 12 & 10. Father of the children was James Thomas (mother not ID by Matt or myself yet) not sure where James Thomas was in 1881? Had you found him Joe?
Matt had four of James and Elizabeth's nine children on his chart, the others I found on the IGI batch site.
Their son William/born & Christ' 1853 Pancras (not the latter William Thomas/1866) died young in 1854.
That data is on IGI & FreeBMD so I am inclined to accept.
Yours & Matt's data agree that James' father was a Thomas, but not same one (Matt had no mother on his chart) and both your data does not agree to ancestors prior to that?
You are very generous to concede your data could be flawed but you have cert's to confirm in many areas.
Lets see where this leads Joe?
Sending photo of Alf and family. I know Matt would want you to have it as you must be related. Such a shame this did not happen earlier.
Many thanks for your response, Linda.
