Here is another follow up to your question about origins of George.
I was "diddling" on net and found a message from a Ginger Edie Hoffman who had an extensive message regarding Phillip Edgington born in England who came to America with a brother George Edgington. Phillip settled in Burlington County, New Jersey and married Abagail Curtis on December 18, 1704 at St. Mary's Episcopal Church. Abagail was born in Bugbrook, Northamptonshire, England. This information is on the Hunterdon County, New Jersey Queries Web Page.
So, I checked this genforum and there are a few messages regarding a Phillip, George and Robert who were brothers who came from England. Someone has actually posted a birth date in England for Phillip in 1677 in Somerset, England.
I have never asked Howard Edgington about possible siblings for George.
I found an emmigration note about George Edgington coming to America in 1728 at age 19, from St James, Westminister, Middlesex to Maryland - and forwarded that to Howard.
If George came to America with 2 brothers, it seems to me that he would have named his sons after them. George has no Phillip or Robert. And, Phillip Edgington of NJ apparently does not name a son George. He does name a son Robert.
Another person with a lot of knowledge about early Edgingtons and Broomes is William C. Heaton who has posted on this page.
This probably only "muddies" the water. Please keep all of posted on what you might uncover.
