“Tellico Plains---The Rev. Jesse Edington passed away Sunday afternoon at his home following a long illness. Surviving are his wife; five children, Mrs. Roxie Bryson, Mrs. Sarah Bradley, Mrs. Johnnye Ervin, Mrs. Mary Sue Williams and Carl Edington. For the past 20 years the Rev. Edington had been pastor of churches in Monroe and Polk Counties.” ---Miss Irene Ellis.
