According to Bible records, Newton Edney had two daughters, Mary and Polly, who were born to he and Jane, but they are not mentioned in Newton's will. Both were old enough to have given birth to Jesse Lee. Their deaths are not mentioned - they are just not mentioned again. My genealogy class feels one of these girls was the mother, Newton may have disowned her, but agreed to raise the boy. Jane Smith's mother was "Dorcas" in the Bible, and according to TN "cousins" the name "Koonce" shows up in TN records. They feel Rachel Dillahunty's parents were Koonce. I picked up a death date on Alma of 1995, but I don't know how accurate that is. You will need to check it out. Have no other names or information on her.
