I believe you are right. The marriage document had "Almedia" as the name of Joseph's wife. Perhaps the paper was wrong or "Josephine" could have been some kind of nickname or something. Thank you for info. I will get some of your requested dates to you after I check files at home. Do you know when Almedia died? It probably was before 1920 census was taken as her name was not listed.
