Starting Sept. 30, 2014, Genealogy.com will be making a big change. GenForum
message boards, Family Tree Maker homepages, and the most popular articles
will be preserved in a read-only format, while several other features will
no longer be available, including member subscriptions and the Shop.
Hi Philip: It's nice to log on to the Edney site and see your message. Long time, no word! The Jones connection in my family is very tenuous, but I'm still looking. My great-great grandfather was Jones Overton Williams and his father was Jones Williams. As you'll know, the Edneys are on the OTHER side, but they connect somewhere along the way, I'm sure. I was up in Henderson/Rutherford County last month and finally got to see the Edney Family Cemetery myself. It's really just about gone, which is very sad -- trees, lichens, poison oak, weeds -- many of the tombstones broken and fallen or nearly buried. My cousin had a digital camera and we got photos of as many of the Edney tombstones as we could get to. I feel lucky to have seen those of Ambrose Jones Edney and Patricia Nix Edney, since I am a direct descendant. Let me hear from you, and please keep me in the loop if you find any Jones connections!
