There have been lots of Joneses in Camden County from the early days while it was still part of Pasquotank Co. I allways say that the only ones who can keep up with the Jones in Camden Co are the Sawyers. Williams is also a very common name here. It is very interesting that a Jones and Edney marry over in England and come to the area in the United States that the first Edneys came to and where there are also lots of Joneses. We don't know where Robert Edney came from before he showed up here in 1724. When did this Samuel Jones marry Lovie Edney and come to Pasquotank Co.? If we could find more about her family in England we might find some clues about where Robert came from. Maybe he could have been a brother to her grandfather or something. It is just to much of a coinsidence
