Possible Edneys in VA

Today I went to a geneology fair put on by the Family Research Society of Northeastern NC One of the speakers was from the Norfolk VA lilbrary. Afterward I was talking to him about my Old ansestors which I know are part of the Old family that settled in that area in the 1600s; I just can't prove which Thomas Old was the father of my Edward Old. I mentioned that Edward's son John Thomas was the one who came to NC and he married an Edney. This man said that there are Edneys in either Gloucester or Matthews Co in VA I forget which. They are next to each other north of the York River near the Chesapeake Bay. If any one has time to check it out it might be a lead to our Robert Edney in Pasquotank (Camden) Co. NC. Since I don't get home from work until about 7:30 and have a large yard and house to take care of I don't have time to look unless I can find it on the internet.
