I am not sure how your Edney fits in the family but I know of a conection between the Edney family and a Wilkins. John Edney who was one of the ones that stayed in Camden Co. had some land that was divided among his heirs. One of his heirs was Charlotte Wilkins, the wife of Nathan Wilkins. Other Heirs were Sarah Old the wife of John T. Old, Mary Edney, Chole (I am not sure of the spelling and less sure of the pronuncation) Edney, John Edney, Newton Edney, and Samuel Edney. Mary (also called Polly soon after married James P Marchant. The division of the property was in 1826. In 1852 James P Marchant and Nathan Wilkins were both living in Dyer Co. Tenn. James P. Marchant mentioned Nathan in a letter. I believe that at least one of the brothers of Charlotte Wilkins went west but I dont have any hard evidence.
