Camden Co is in NE North Carolina. Rutherford Co in in the south west. Many people left the eastern counties and went west. One or more of his grandparents could have come form Camden Co. I have never heard of a Middleton in Camden or the near by counties. Jones and Williams are fairly common all over the US but I don't think Overton is. Jones and Williams are probably the second and third most common names in Camden Co. after Sawyer. Overton is fairly common here. In a big city you have many different names. In most cities there are probably some Jones and some Williams and maybe one or two Overtons. But there would be just as many Smiths, Browns, Greens, Bakers or Jinkens as Jones and Williams. There would be hundreds of names as common as Overton. You might find a Jones and a Williams together but the chances of finding the name Overton with both Jones and Williams is very slim when you have so many names avaliable. Maybe the Jones Overton came from his mother's family and they just happened to run into some Williams after they moved to Rutherford Co.
