Most of my information on the Edney family came from my aunt who died in 1992. I don't know where she got her information except I think she copied some of it from someone's family Bible which I think went back to Robert Edney and Mary Bond. The first Robert Edney and Anne Rencher had a son Newton Rencher Edney whos dates are suposed to be 1737 - 1794. The best guess at the present is that the Robert Edney born in 1772 is the son of Newton Rencher Edney. He married Masry Bond and one of their sons was Newton R. Edney born in 1800. He married Fannie Jones. They had a lot of children including a Edward Miles Edney born in 1823 and married Eliza Williams. I have no farther information on him.
The Robert Edney born in 1772 had a brother named John. John had a grandson named William B. Old who was born in 1825. In the 1850 census I find William B. Old as head of a household that included his sister Fanny and a 9 year old girl identified as F. Edney. The only thing I can figure is that she must be an orphan cousin and William and his sister are also orphans. William would have been about 25 and his sister in her late teens at the time.
