Martha: Sir Jonathan lived in England in the early to mid 1700s. His children, Jonathan and Lovenia "Lovey" were born 17 May 1780 and 1782, respectively. Lovey married Samuel Jones, a Welshman, who may have been living in Northhampton in England. Both children emigrated to Pasquotank Co., NC about 1812. Prior to this, the son, Jonathan, had gone against his father after having left college and becoming a merchant seaman instead. Sir Jonathan, displease with a disobedient son and a daughter who married below her station and left for the US during the War of 1812, were disowned by Sir Jonathan and after his death, his estate was remanded back to the Crown. I have a transcribed copy of an Affidavit of Parentage from Lovey's eldest son, Joseph Edney Jones, stating some of this information.
