I believe I may be a decendent of Fred Edney who settled in South Dakota and owned an impliment company. Fred would be my grandfather. Other than that, I have no information of the Edney geneology prior to Fred Edney. My grandmother, Pearl Sheneman Edney, divorced Fred Edney when my father was very young. Probably prior to 1920. They lived in the Holdredge, Nebraska area.

If you are a South Dakota Edney, we could be related somehow through Fred Edney?

My father is Ivan Lee Edney. Born in Orlenes, Nebraska on April 1, 1914, and passed away on November 3, 1984. He was the youngest of 3 brothers. Clarence was the oldest and Laurence was the middle. I believe Clarence passed away in March 1984. He was a PHD and the Dean of the Communications Department at Florida State University in Talahassee, Florida. Laurence passed away in the early 1970's in San Francisco, California. Neither of the two other brothers had any children.

I have an older sister, Stormi Lee Edney. She was born in Boise, Idaho on June 23, 1946. She lives in Mahtomedi, Minnesota and works for the Star Tribune as a photo journalist and war correspondent. She is currently married to David Brown. This is her third marriage. She goes by he professional name of Stormi Greener. Greener was her second marriage, and Hill was her first. She has a daughter, Tara Lynn Hill who was born May 26, 1965 and lives in Seattle, Washington. Her son, Richard Thomas Greener was born October 22, 1972 and currently lives in Sandy, Utah.

I was born in Nampa, Idaho on September 4, 1948. My wife, Barbara Jean Biggs Edney, and I were married on June 28, 1968 and have lived in Boise, Idaho all our lives. I have 2 children. A son, Noah Christian Edney, born August 10, 1970, and a daughter, Jennifer Elizabeth Edney, born September 11, 1977.

My mother is Virginia Mararete Jackson Edney, born May 17, 1919 in Fort Cobb, Oklahoma. She is the youngest of 12. She met my father in Seattle, Washington where they both worked for Boeing during WW2. They married in Boise, Idaho on October 7, 1945. Although he never spoke of it, I believe my father was married and divorced in Nebraska prior to him moving to Seattle. No children by that mariage.

I am a Construction Manager doing contract administation for a local highway entity. My wife, Barbara, is a Geographic Information System Analyst working for the City of Boise Public Works Department. My son, Noah, is a US Army Ranger. He has recently been reassigned from duty in Fort Worth, Texas to Fort Lewis, Washington. He has 3 children and is devorced. Valerie 14, Samantha 11, and Alex 9. My daughter, Jennifer, is a free spirit and currently lives in San Francisco, California. She has a son, Syrus Kane Hunter who is 4-1/2.

I hope this is of some interest to you. It would be great to know my roots, and maybe we share the same bloodline. Hope to hear back from you soon.
