Hi Judith,
I have a feeling that somehow our families are connected. My ancestor, Robert Jewell EDNEY was born 26 Feb. 1792 in Milton, Parish of Portsea, Hampshire, England. His father was William EDNEY. of Hampshire. Robert came to America in 1819 on the ship "RESOLUTION" with his wife, child, and his wife's parents, brothers and sisters. Robert EDNEY'S mother was no doubt from a JEWELL family, since he carried on the name JEWELL as the middle name of 4 of his children, and the JEWELL name is very prominent in the family, as is EDNEY. My grandfather was Forest Edney WEST. Keep in touch, and if you find out any more, please contact me. Cheers,
Doug
