Hi Judith,

I have an interest in Edney's from North Curry, Somerset. My special interest is the Gadsby's of London. A John Edney born c1839 in North Curry married Caroline Mary Ann Gadsby in 1865 in Battersea. John worked in the Railways and in 1881 was a foreman in the GWR, living at 29 Glenhurst Road, Ealing.

Children include Florence born Brentford 1866; Harry born Brentford 1868; Ada born 1870 in Brentford; Edward born 1871 in Brentford and Herbert born 1873 in Norwood.

The son Edward I found in Lambeth as a printer's compositor in the 1901 census.

Are you able to offer any more on the ancestry of this family?

Caroline was born in 1835 in Frimley, Surrey, the illegitimate daughter of John Gadsby a sawyer, who I don't know.
