Hello Jeaneane,

Please check out message 496 of this forum. I find it quite interesting that you have connections in Pasquotank County, NC. When you read my message about an apprentice of Henry Tapscott who was in Northumberland County, VA. Henry was married to Ann Edney. Henry and Ann signed papers apprenticing a young man to learn the shipbuilding trade, carpentry and joinery. The apprentice moved his family to the Pasquotank area of NC.

I have a feeling that Ann Edney's family were of a similar occupation, and that is why Henry was able to meet her and eventually marry her ca. 1711.

Do you know what kind of trade was practiced by Robert Edney?

Best regards,

John Fox
Winston Salem, NC
