I am not an Edney researcher, but I found a document concerning Robert Edney when I was researching the Rencher/Renshaw lines. He and his wife Ann gave their Power of Attorney to Ann's brother Thomas Rencher to sell land in Anne Arundel Co., Md. The text of the document is below. I hope it can help someone.


Anne Arundell Co., MD Land Records, v. RCW No. 2, pg. 32-35

To All Christian People to whom those presents shall come that I Robert Edney of Ann Arundell in this Province of Maryland with Ann my wife have made ordained Constituted and by these presents do make ordain and Constitute and in our place and stead put and depute our trusty and loving Brother Thomas Rencher of this County of Somerset in the province of Maryland planter our true and lawfull attorney for us and in our names and behalf absolute make over convey confirm sell and dispose of all our right title and interest of a certain part or parcel of land situate lying and being in Ann Arundell County abovesd in the Province of Maryland being by estimation one hundred acres and commonly called and known by the name of Cuckolds Pointe giving and granting unto our said attorney by these presents our full and whole power strength and authority in and about the premises to give grant bargain sell and generally all and every other act or acts thing or things devise and devises in the law whatsoever in ____ and ____ to be done in the premises for full assurance and confirmation of the afsd one hundred acres of land giving and granting as afsd unto our sd attorney fully and wholly in or names to bargain sell alien and dispose of the afsd land and premises to any pson or psons as fully largely and amply to all intent and purposes as we our selves might or could do if we were personally present or as if the matter required more full and speciall authority then is herein given in form the purpose afsd in complying with all and every act or acts of assembly of the said Province of Maryland in this case made and provided with warranty against us and our heirs or any other person or psons whatsoever ratifying allowing and holding firm and effectuall all whatsoever our said attorney shall lawfull do in and about the premises by virtue hereof In Witness whereof we have hereunto set to our hands and fixed our seales this 25th day of July and in the 7th year of our sd ___ Domy Anno Dom? 1722

Then came Nicholas Fairless and Underwood Renshaw the two subscribing evidences to the within Power of Attorney and made oath on the Holy Evangelis of Almighty God that they see the ____ Named Robert and Ann Edney signe seale and deliver the within Power of Attorney to the uses ___ mentioned before me this subscriber his Ldships Chief Justice of the Provinciall Court of Maryland the Day and year abovesaid
