In the information I have from my aunt's research I have four Samuel Edneys. Robert Edney and Anne Rencher had a son Samuel Edney born in 1734. He married Mary Kelly and had a son Samuel Edney who moved to the western part of NC. That Samuel Edney was born in 1768 and died in 1844 and married Eleanor Mills, if my information is correct. The third Samuel Edney I have is the son of John Edney who was the son of Newton Rencher Edney, the second son of Robert and Ann. This one is named Samuel H Edney. He inherited land in South Mills, NC from his father in 1825. I think he is the Samuel Edney mentioned by his brother-in-law in a letter in the 1840's or 50's. I don't have any idea who he married. The forth Samuel Edney I have is Samuel Rencher Edney born 1835, the son of Newton R Edney born 1800, the son of Robert Edney born 1772, the son of Newton Rencher Edney, the son of Robert Edney and Anne Rencher. I have Samuel Rencher Edney married to Susan Elizabeth Spence. There are a lot of people that I don't have any children listed for and they probably had a lot of children and so there are probably at least that many more Samuel Edneys that I don't have.
