Hi Peter

The Kimbers and Edneys were both from the Abingdon area ( I live about 8 miles from there now)

I'm not exactly a direct ancestor but one of my Smiths had a joint wedding with his brides younger brother Edward Taylor married Emma Edney in St Helens, Abingdon in 1837 , at the same time as Elizabeth Taylor married my Gt Gt Grandfather Thomas Smith.

The father of Emma Edney was Joseph Edney who married Elizabeth KIMBER 1803 St Helens Abingdon. Joseph and Elizabeth had at least 10 Edney children all born in Abingdon including a William Edney born 1810 in Abingdon. I have his first wife as called Sarah ( 2nd wife was 40 years younger than him called Annie or Ann) - 1st wife surname unknown( but born in East Ilsley, Berkshire circa 1805) and died 1866 in Headington, Oxford. William Edney and Sarah (married = ? unknown place/date) and had 6 children, John , Elizabeth, Sarah Priscilla, Wiliam and Mary born between 1831 and 1850 in East Ilsley ( John) Marcham ( the next 5) and St Clements, Oxford (Mary)

Does any of this ring bells. I have done a little research back to the parents of both the Edney and Kimber line by about 1 or 2 generations more but I do not have much on this family? If I have anything that helps let me know? Or ditto if you do?
