Burnham/Edney Connection-Camden Co., N.C
Posted by: Hank Burnham Date: January 28, 2000 at 23:22:51
  of 602

Gabriel Burnham married Ann, whose maiden name I believe may have been Edney. Gabriel died c1782 in Camden Co., N.C. and Ann died c1804 in Camden Co., N.C. Their children included: Benjamin Burnham; Joseph Burnham; Elijah Burnham (m. Nancy); Samuel Burnham (m. Betsy); Mary Burnham (m. James C. Smith); Elisha Burnham and another daughter who was the first wife of Daniel Cartwright. In 1792, Ann conveyed to Elijah Burnham "lands conveyed to her by Samuel Edney" which she was living upon. The deed reference is Camden Co., N.C. Deed Book F pages 84-85. I have not located the deed of conveyance between Samuel Edney and Ann Burnham. Does anyone know of a Will of Samuel Edney which might show this transaction? Does anyone have a record of Ann Burnham being a daughter of Samuel Edney? Sincerely, Hank Burnham
