Most of the postings on this fourm have been about the decendents of Robert Edney and his wife Anne Rencher who lived in Pasquotank Co. in eastern North Carolina in the early 1700s. Camden County was formed from the northeastern part of Pasquotank Co in 1777. This is where the Edneys lived so they changed counties without moving. Robert Edney had two sons and three daughters. The sons were Samuel Edney and Newton Rencher Edney. Two of Samuel Edney's sons moved to western NC where they were Methodist preachers. Others of the third generation moved to Tennesee. From western NC and TN they spread out.
We don't have any good solid information before Robert Edney. We are not allways sure who was a child of which of his sons. There are some in later generations that we have not made the conection but are pretty sure that they are decendents of Robert Edney.
We would all love to know about any posible ansestors before about 1700.
