I have an annoying hole in my recent family history. Mat(t)hew (b. 1817, Ireland) Gaskin married Ann (b. 1827, Ireland) - Ann immigrated in 1860 Hugh Gaskin married Sarah Egan (no birthdates for either, but their son lists there birth places as New York) Hugh's brother was Matthew Gaskin (b. 1870, New York). Matthew married Julia A. (b. 1871, New York). I've never found any record of children for them. Hugh and Sarah gave birth to Matthew (b. 1882, New York). The 1900 census lists my Great-Grandfather Matthew (b.1882) as living with his Grandmother Ann in the Bronx with two cousins, Annie Payne (b. 1876, New York) whose mother and father were both born in Ireland (according to the 1900 census) and Bessie Larissaint or Lanssaint (b. 1889, New York) whose parents are French (father) and Irish (mother). Matthew (b. 1882) married Theresa Egan (b. 1894), and they had two children Matthew (b. 1913) and Woodrow (b. 1916). The hole is annoying because there are so many records out there for most of these people, but it is as if Hugh and Sarah just fell off the face of the planet. Any help is greatly appreciated.
