Corning Eggleston and his wife "Rhody," in Aux Sable, Grundy County, Illinois, in the 1850 census, made it to Township 5, Amador County, California, where they appear in the 1860 United States Federal Census Record -- indexed as "Carminy" Eggleston, but a look at the original writing is clearly "Corning."

I didn't find them in the 1870 Census, so possibly they had died by then. Amador County didn't have stonemasons to create headstones for quite a while after 1860, so early graves tend to have lost their original wooden markers.
