Hello Warren,

I found your old posting on genealogy.com regarding the Eib family and was wondering if you had any information on some Eibs in particular. I see that Nancy Parr responded to your posting and I also sent her an email, but as of yet have not had a response. I know that a Baltasar Eib came to this country from Germany when he was possibly 19 years old. His parents were Ludovici Eib and Margarethae Ortseif. Well, Baltasar married a Pauline Schauer. I don’t know where these two are buried. One of Balthasar’s and Pauline’s children was named Rose Elizabeth Eib. She married a Lorenzo D. Clapp (his second marriage). These two are my mother’s grandparents on her mother’s side. Rose and Lorenzo had five children, all girls, Pauline, Edith, Helen, Gertrude, and Elizabeth (died at 10 years old). Pauline was my grandmother and I knew each of the other sisters. I have pictures and memories of all of them.

What I’m looking for are other siblings of Rose Eib and more information about her mother Pauline Schauer as noted above. Are there other Eibs in the area. I live in Monroe Township, grew up in Jamesburg and lived in South River for 30 years. My wife is from South River. Any help you could give me or contacts you could provide would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Allan E. Brown
