Kay,
I am very interested in finding out more information. My grandmother, Permetha Parlee Elliott Lakin was born in Kenton, Ohio in 1918. She died in '98 and when questioned about her unusual name indicated that she was named for two of her aunts.

Given the unusual name, I expect that Mecie was that aunt.

My grandmother's father was Asa Elliott. He married Lydia Ommert and together they had 11 children. Mary, Charles, Asa, Ommert, Ann, Pauline, Edith, Harry, Bud, Parlee and John.

Please let me know what you find and if you think that there is a connection.
