I havebeen searching for info about John Jacob for well over a year.About a year ago, at familysearch.com, I found a listing for a 1728 birth in Tulpehocken, PA for John Jacob Eisenhauer whose wife was Maria Elizabeth. A LDS member had entered the info but no source for the info was recorded by the member.I have come to believe that this listing is very probably not "our" John Jacob.
My family's oral history has been that John Jacob came from Germany.About a year ago, I contacted Christophel's descendant, David Mott Rote, through the Eisenhower Family Forum, and he related to me that his great-aunt told him that John Jacob came from Germany on the ship Two Brothers. I was able to confirm this from records of the ship's passenger and qualifications lists sent to me by the Historical Society of Berks County Museum and Library.Through the Eisenhauer Family Forum I also met Joy Hudson who is also a descendant of John Jacob. We discovered that her great-grandfather Eisenhauer and our great-grandfather Eisenhauer were brothers. Her family's oral history was also that John Jacob had come from Germany. So with 3 different branches of the family, none aware of one another until a year or so ago and all possessing the sameinformation about the family's earlyhistory, it seems quite likely that their information is almost certainly correct. I am still searching for more documentation about John Jacob and will let you know if I discover something new and I hope you will do the same.
