Hi Virginia - Thanks for replying - I have discovered some more info about Jacob. First of all, there were two old ones and two young ones (at least)in the 1810 census. Your Jacob lived until after 1850 and mostly in Caldwell County. My Jacob died in 1834, and though he may have started in Caldwell, he ended up in Livingston Co. Here is what I've got: Eisons mentioned in Livingston County Jacob 1806 - 230 a on Big Eddy Jacob 1815 - buyer at estate sale Benjamin 1815 - buyer at estate sale Jacob 1818-1834 - many mentions over years Nancy Ann 1821 - m. Franklin Robb F. Isan 1822 witness Louiza 1827 marriage John 1830 James 1837 witness -1840 census Richard 1838 Mary (wife of James) Martha (wife of Jacob) (I am not sure that the first mention of Jacob in Livingston is "my" Jacob, since your Jacob lived on the Eddy, I believe. I'm not sure of the geography there. I'm fairly sure the second one is mine because of the people associated with him in the sale.) Eisons in Caldwell County 2 Johns, 2 Jacobs 1810 - John 134 a on Eddy John m. 1809, 1830 Jacob s/o John m. 1831 Catherine m.1831 (security for the license = John) Aurora m. 1833 (sec. John) David J m. 1838 Almira Jane m. 1839 (sec. John) Alexander m. 1840?(consent John) Old Jacob m.1848 (m Agnes McElroy) 1850 census Alexander, David, old Jacob d.1852 John s/o Jacob & Catherine - Donaldson Forks d.1853 Frederick s/o John & Martha (17y) d.1856 Pernecy d/o DJ d.1857 David J s/o John & Nancy I got this information from censuses, marriage lists, tax lists, deeds, estate records, death records etc - I can give you fuller citations if you wish. It is possible that my Jacob came to Livingston Co by way of South Carolina - possibly he or his people came from Pennsylvania earlier (a lot of Pennsylvanians went down the valley of Virginia and some ended up in SC). Hope this helps - and do let me know if you want more details. And if you can make sense of any of this! Cheers Lee Notify Administrator about this message?
