Starting Sept. 5, 2014, Genealogy.com will be making a big change. GenForum message boards, Family Tree Maker homepages, and the most popular articles will be preserved in a read-only format, while several other features will no longer be available, including member subscriptions and the Shop.

I have Elgie ancestors back to a birth in 1793 with a 100% confidence level. Prior to that I have three more generations of Elgey that are highly probable but not confirmed. All lived in Yorkshire, including Ingleby Arncliffe, Ormesby, Kirby-in-Cleveland and Skelton. I don't have a James anywhere; Ralph and matthew are the most recurring names. Where were your Elgeys located?
