As I researched my French line, moving from Aynho Northamptonshire to Guelph Twp., Wellington County, Ontario in 1842, I noted many of the same names in the Aynho and the Guelph parish registers. In case it's of use to anyone, here is some Elkerton miscellany from the McMaster University archives at Hamilton, Ontario:
REGISTERS OF ST GEORGE'S CHURCH GUELPH
Thomas Elkerton, Pilkington, is a witness along with Jane Anotinnette Elkertn, Pilkington, to the marriage on 20 Jun 1859 of George Howse, 23, Puilkington, born England, son of Benjamin and Anna, TO Henrietta Thacker, 24, Pilkington, born Pilkington, daughter of John and Catharine.
REGISTERS OF ST JOHN THE EVANGELIST, ELORA
Esther Hannah, daughter of Thomas and Jane Antoinette Elkerton, farmer, Woolwich Twp., born 29 Jul 1851, baptised 5 Oct 1851, sponsors Mary Elkerton, and the Parents. by the Rev'd John W. Marsh.
Mary Martha daughter of Thomas and Jane A. Elkerton , farmer, lot 12 con 4 Pilkington, born 17 Feb 1853, baptised 7 Jun 1854, sponsors the Parents and Mrs. Fields [the next baptism identifies her as Mary Jane, Mrs. James Fields] by the Rev'd John Smithurst.
- BURIED --- Elkerton, married woman, Pilkington, March 17, 1861 by the Rev'd. C E. Thomson.
Hope this helps sometone. I also have the Aynho registers on microfiche if it'd help....
