Through more research, I have found Elizabeth's will. It is dated 8 Jul 1734. It makes no mention of her mother, Ann. I have yet to find Ann's death documented.
Elizabeth married John Cook, and possibly had a son by him, Thomas Cook, born 16 Nov 1695. This alleged son was not mentioned in her will. She married next, Captain William Barrow Sr. on Jan 14, 1695.(This would suggest she was married to William Barrow when Thomas Cook was conceived, a very unlikely event.) She married lastly, Eliezer Lillington.
Elizabeth's father-in-law, John Barrow's will was signed by Charles Eden, Governor of Carolina. It is interesting that her father's will was witnessed by Thomas Pollock, who later became acting Governor.
Richard's other witnesses, John Wolfenden died in 1691 in Perquimans, and John Lewin was listed in Corratuck Pricinct Tithables of 1696-97. Argill Simons (Semons)who transported the Elks family into Virginia, died in Chowan Co. NC. (formed from Albemarle) in 1714.
The only William Darby I have found record of, during the time frame, was the William Darby who wrote the play "Ye Bare (Bear) and Ye Cubbe". He and two other actors performed the play at Fowke't tavern in Accomac County, on August 27, 1665. They were taken to court by Edward Martin, and were arraigned in court on Nov 16 1665 and ordered to appear in court with costumes and script on 18 Dec 1665. The justices found nothing offensive in the performance. They were aquitted on 17 Jan 1666. William Died abotu 1712. His son Owen Darby died 1790 in Accomack Co.
